Mercury Retrograde’s Gift: 4 Home Runs for Nick Kurtz

Posted on August 6, 2025August 6, 2025 By cesarlove

How did a barely known rookie on the lowly Sacramento Athletics hit four home runs against the first place Astros? Usually such home run feats occur under transits of Uranus. But not on July 25, 2025, when Nick Kurtz did the unprecedented by channeling Mercury retrograde into a record breaking game. Kurtz’s birthchart, with its strong Pisces and Neptune emphasis, let this happen.

At first pitch, Mercury retrograde was positioned at 13 degrees of Leo and tightly opposite to Kurtz’s natal conjunction of Venus and Neptune at 12 degrees of Aquarius.  Mercury retrograde was also conjunct to Kurtz’s natal Jupiter of 9 Leo.

Mercury retrograde is generally considered an upsetting aspect, as flows of information behave oddly. When retrograde, Mercury functions do not follow their regular linear patterns. Virgos who thrive under organization and precision typically have difficulty when Mercury retrograde throws them screwballs and knuckleballs. Mercury information arrives very fast. When retrograde, it is non-linear yet concentrated. A lot of information will arrive but not in its regular packages.  Kurtz’s natal chart has the Sun and Mercury in Pisces, whose glove catches data with unconventional webbing. Mercury in Pisces absorbs splotches of seemingly random information and makes sense of them. Kurtz’s natal Neptune, the dispositor of both his Sun and Mercury, serves as a highly sensitive antennae. On July 25, with Mercury retrograde in such a tight aspect to his Neptune and Venus, Nick Kurtz become very highly in tune with the day’s energy and had his record breaking day.
