Blake Snell’s Bad Transits

Posted on April 24, 2024April 24, 2024 By cesarlove
Blake Snell Dec. 4, 1992 Noon Chart. Seattle, Wa.

Pitcher Blake Snell, who was signed to a mega-million contract by the San Francisco Giants and has begun the 2024 season 0-3, is undergoing very challenging transits from Saturn, Mars, Jupiter and Uranus. The expectations could not be higher for Blake Snell who won the Cy Young award last season when playing for the San Diego Padres.

In the month of April, Snell’s Sun of 13 degrees Sagitarrius is experiencing the transit of a square from both Mars and Saturn in Pisces. In addition, his birthchart has the North and South Nodes at 22 degrees of Sagitarrius and Gemini. These Nodes are also undergoing squares from Mars and Saturn in the month of April. The Mars transit will soon pass and be out of orb. Saturn, however, will remain in square to Snell’s Sun for the remainder of 2024.

The Jupiter-Uranus conjunction at 20 degrees Taurus is in a difficult opposition to Snell’s Mercury and Pluto conjunction in Scorpio. Mercury rules pitchers, and challenging transits to a pitcher’s Mercury generally disturb one’s performance.

The chart for the signing of Blake Snell on March 19 does not look fortunate for the SF Giants. Mars at 27 degrees Aquarius forms a trine to the Giants Jupiter of 27 degrees Gemini. This is an auspicious trine, as transits to the Giants Jupiter affect their pitching staff. Less auspicious is Neptune at 27 degrees Pisces, which is square to the Giants’ Jupiter and square to their Uranus in Virgo. Neptune transits to planets in the pitchers signs of Jupiter and Virgo are disruptive to a staff. A further unfortunate transit is the conjunction of Saturn and Venus at 10 and 12 degrees Pisces. Venus and Saturn are square to the Giants’ natal Mercury of 10 degrees Sagitarrius. As Mercury rules pitchers, this aspect does not bode well for the Giants and their new left hander.
