Astrology Explains Giants’ Woes

Posted on August 17, 2025August 17, 2025 By cesarlove

Bay Area sports fans and pundits, and the Giants themselves, are wondering why are the Giants playing so bad?  Their hitting is anemic. They lose in their home ballpark. They make mental errors that are rare at the Major League level. Why do they keep losing?

Astrology has the answer.

The primary aspect affecting the 2025 baseball season is the conjunction of Saturn and Neptune near 1 degree of Aries. This aspect is complex as it involves the dissimilar energies of Saturn, Neptune, and the sign Aries. Saturn holds the energy of structures, institutions, and the hard knocks of reality. Neptune brings dreams, idealism, spiritual yearnings, and illusions. And Aries provides lifeforce energy and individual identity. In a near best case scenario, Saturn and Neptune team up to create structures that allow the ideal potentials to manifest. They channel the lifeforce of Aries, and we receive tremendous renewal! A lesser outcome could be that rigid structures of Saturn resist the Neptune tides of change. In vengeance, they squelch the lifeforce of Aries. Everyone loses, especially Saturn’s authority figures whom no one listens to anymore.

Will the Saturn-Neptune conjunction give you the all the mojo you need to manifest your dreams and creativity?   Or perhaps you are a manager who gets no more respect. There is a kaleidoscope of possible outcomes. Your personal experience with this aspect will depend on your relationships with the planets Neptune and Saturn. Your experience will also depend on the angle from which you receive the transit to your birthchart.

Unfortunately for the Giants, they are experiencing the Saturn-Neptune conjunction as a difficult semisquare (45 degree) aspect to their natal Neptune of 16 degrees Taurus. This transit is particularly strong since it involved both a natal Neptune and Neptune in transit. Semi-squares are uncomfortable aspects. Like squares (90 degrees), they bring obstacles and tensions.

The Giants’ natal Neptune, positioned at 16 degrees Taurus, is absorbing this unpleasant aspect. Bad transits to Neptune bring a loss of attention. One becomes dreamy and can’t concentrate on simple ground balls and pop ups. The Giants are making not just these kinds of errors but also mental errors such as balks and getting picked off. Some pundits say the players have lost focus because they are trying too hard. Individual players are trying to win games all by themselves. This is the Saturn half of the conjunction, the pressure of unrealistic expectations.

Rafael Devers Trade June 15, 2025 5:00 pm San Francisco, Ca

The planet Neptune rules first base, the position that has a received a lot of attention for the Giants this season. Rafael Devers came to the Giants in a trade from Boston on June 15. (Interestingly, on the day the Giants acquired Devers, Jupiter at 1 degree Cancer was also in semi-square aspect to the Giants’ Neptune, which added further stress.) Devers is not a natural first baseman. Instead, he is a natural third baseman complete with a Sun in Scorpio. He left Boston on bad terms as he had objected to management’s decision to shift him to first ase in mid-season, a position he had yet to master. In San Francisco, he agreed to play first base, a position he is still learning. Devers was brought to the Giants as a known slugger to help the offence. In San Francisco, Devers has hit near to his potential, yet the Giants’ overall offense has significantly underperformed since his arrival. One theory to explain the Giants’ weak hitting is that the arrival of Devers upset the Giants identity as a scrappy team that found ways to score runs despite lacking a big bat.

Furthermore, Saturn and Neptune are squelching the Giants’ lifeforce. Saturn and Neptune have sat themselves down in early Aries, putting a dam on the flow of Aries exuberance. The Giants’ dugout is not a happy place. There is no joy of summer.  A slumping team has a hard time returning to winning without a sense of fun.

Why can’t the Giants win? Here is astrology’s answer.
