Uranus Liberates Pete Rose and Black Sox

Posted on July 6, 2025July 6, 2025 By cesarlove

On May 13, 2025, Pete Rose and the eight Chicago White Sox players who participated in the fixing of the 1919 World Series had their lifetime bans from Major League Baseball lifted under Uranus transits.

1919 Chicago White Sox

In 1919, eight White Sox players accepted money to lose the World Series. Two years later, on March 12, 1921, baseball commissioner Kenissaw Landis banned the eight players as Mars at 20 degrees Aries was opposite the White Sox natal Saturn in Libra. The banned players were Happy Flesch, Shoeless Joe Jackson, Eddie Cicotte, Buck Weaver, Chick Gandil, Lefty Williams, Swede Risberg, and Fred McMillan.

104 years later, the lifting of the ban on the Black Sox players occurred as the Sun and Uranus were conjunct to the White Sox natal Jupiter of 26 degrees Jupiter. Not surprisingly, Jupiter is the planet of gamblers. Uranus, the planet of freedom, served as a liberator of sorts to the eight long-dead players who are now eligible for MLB honors such as the Hall of Fame.

Pete Rose received his lifetime ban from Major League Baseball ban on Aug. 24, 1989 upon a T-square that included Venus in Libra, Jupiter in Cancer, and a triple conjunction of Saturn-Neptune-Uranus in Capricorn. All three Capricorn planets were conjunct the Ascendant of his team, the Cincinnati Reds.  These three Capricorn planets were also conjunct to the MC in Pete Rose’s birthchart. The main actor was among all these six bodies was Saturn, who is usually present when harsh sentences are pronounced, especially those against libertine personalities such as Pete Rose.

Rose’s ban (and much of his gambling activity) also occurred as Saturn, Uranus and Neptune were conjunct the Reds’ Capricorn Ascendant. In 1989, Rose was both the manager, ruled by Capricorn; and the face of the franchise, ruled by the Ascendant.

This year’s lifting of the Rose’s ban occurred as Venus at 9 Aries, the planet of mercy and justice complemented the cardinal T-square of the ban and reshaped it into a grand cross in the cardinal signs.

The transits for Pete Rose, upon the lifting of his ban, include a Uranus return to his natal Uranus of 24 Taurus, conjunct his Jupiter of 20 Taurus.  Similar to the transit to the White Sox chart, Uranus served as a liberator of sorts, offering a get-out-of-jail card to the recently deceased Pete Rose.

The fixed star Algol is prominent in the birthcharts of Pete Rose and the White Sox. Rose has Algol at 25 Taurus conjunct his Uranus of 24 degrees Taurus and his Jupiter of 20 degrees Taurus. The White Sox have Algol at 25 Taurus conjunct their Jupiter. Planets in aspect to Algol are often setups for disasters. Algol is part of the constellation Perseus and represents the severed head of Medusa. Algol contains the severe dark energy of those who have been wronged and rejected. Algol does have the capacity to bring transformation and great healing. But a conjunction from Jupiter to Algol will probably not transform or heal this dark energy. Rather, Jupiter might give it license to break social norms in vengeance against society. Gamble on the team you manage! Throw the World Series and betray the trust of the American public!

Interestingly, it was Pete Rose’s team, the Reds, whom the Black Sox played in the 1919 when they purposely lost the World Series. But in the early Twentieth Century, the Reds franchise was not innocent of such scandals. In the same decade, Reds first baseman Hal Chase was also banned from baseball for throwing games to gamblers. (See my book Baseball an Astrological Sightline . p. 67)

Pete Rose and the Back Sox players are no longer living. Yet the lifting of their lifetime bans allows them to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The transits of any future inductions will also likely include transits that echo those of the original bans.  Jupiter and Uranus will surely be present. Algol will be the uninvited guest. Will she wreak more chaos or bring healing?
