Dejan Milojevic: Basketball Ambassador

The shocking heart-attack death of Warriors assistant coach Dejan Milojevic occurred under a Mars quincunx transit to Pluto in the birthchart of the Warriors and to Saturn in the birthchart of the deceased. The deep connection between the Serbian coach and the Warriors franchise is echoed in the conjunction of his natal Saturn to the Warriors’ First House Pluto. His role as an ambassador for the game of basketball is mirrored by the connections between his birthchart and the birthchart for the game of basketball.

Dejan Milojevic was born on April 15, 1977 in Belgrade. His birthchart has an abundance of Mars and Aries energy. Not only did he have the Sun in Aries conjunct the South Node, his birthchart also contained the Moon conjunct to Mars. Such an abundance of Mars energy is an asset to a player, but it does not necessarily help a coach.

Coaches are more in need of strong Saturn energy. Milojevic’s Saturn was afflicted by a square from Uranus and another square from Mercury. His Saturn was also in the sign of Leo, the sign of the heart, the organ of his body that would cease at his time of death.

Milojevic’s Saturn was positioned at 9 degrees, 58 minutes of Leo and exactly conjunct to the Warriors First House Pluto of 9 degrees, 53 minutes Leo. In 2024, the Golden State Warriors are suffering from difficult Pluto energy as Pluto in transit is conjunct their Descendant of 0 degrees Aquarius. Their 2023-24 season has included the Pluto dramas of Draymond Green’s two suspensions. Also Jonathan Kominga has complained about not enough playing time.  There may be strife in the locker room that is not reaching the public as this transit brings challenges to partnerships. As a coach, Milojevic would fill the role of the Saturnian father figure who attempts to contain and guide less-than-mature athletes. This is a natural role for an assistant coach but more so for one whose natal Saturn is conjunct to a team’s Pluto. Unfortunately, the death of a popular coach, while the Sun and Pluto were conjunct their Descendant, is the worst effect of this transit thus far for the Warriors.

The Pluto transit is also manifest as an opposition to the Warriors’ Ascendant. Such an aspect can bring changes to identity and appearance. Indeed the Warriors continue to have identity issues as their starting line-up has been in regular flux due to Green’s suspensions and inconsistent play from various players such as Andew Wiggens and Clay Thompson.

Milojevic suffered a heart attack during a team dinner on Jan 16, 2024 in Salt Lake City and he would die the next morning. Both the heart attack and his death would occur with the Sun at 26 and 27 degrees Capricorn square to his Sun of 25 degrees Aries. The Sun, like its ruling sign Leo, rules the heart, and a square to one’s Sun places added stress on the organ.

Also, Mars in transit at 10 degrees Capricorn was quincunx within a degree to his Saturn in Leo and to Pluto of the Warriors’ birthchart, which share the same degree.

Milojevic was a great ambassador for the game of basketball. Before he became a coach, he was a star player in his native Serbia, where he was deeply love, he also played in Spain and in Turkey. He mentored Serbian players including MVP Nikola Jokic.
